DesMoines Junk Jamborie

Spending time getting ready for our Vintage Market A'ffaire is always busy. But the fun we have makes it all worth it. Kathy and I went to the first ever "Junk Jamboree" held in Des Moines in April.
We picked up some cute things and lots of fun ideas!

Always nice to see friends!

Please note the change of address for our A'ffaire!

To avoid dealing with inclimate weather, the sale will be held at:

Hope to see ALL of you there!

Come and See What's New in the Shop!

Cheryl has been really busy in the shop making changes and adding new items. The spring things are beginning to come in and that little touch of spring color is bringing the shop new life. Tom built some new shelving behind the cash desk and now its much easier to manuever and use the computer. Cheryl has moved the clothing and everything else to give the shop a brand new look.
Newer yet are the two fur-babies that have taken up residency inside Sow-a-Seed/Prior Attire. Meet Tara (right ) and Scooter (left). They are two of Walnut's Finest Ferals that have been living in the courtyard. Tara is Scooter's mama, but he is quickly growing much bigger than she is, the manly tom that he is! Very slowly Tom and Cheryl have tamed these two and when winter became so bitter cold, it was only a matter of time before they migrated indoors.
So next time you are in the shop, you may get a glimpse if you look around real quick. They hide from strangers but if you get to know them, you will fall in love with them just like we did!

First Vintage Market A'ffaire a Success!

Our very first Vintage Market A'ffaire was a real success and a whole lot of fun! We were pleased not only with the many people that attended, but the weather could not have been nicer! The day was full of excitement. We are already planning our next event which will take place in December! Watch for the exciting details of that.

The shop is taking on a new "Christmas" feel and I'm very busy reworking all the decorations and bringing winter back into the store. Please stop by soon to say HI!

And don't forget 'THRIFTY THURSDAY' ...coming up on November 18th. HALF off all clothing, purses and shoes!

A Day not Fit for Man nor Beast...but we ventured out anyway!

This is the view from Kathy's front porch!

Our nicely shoveled walkways were drifted in pretty good.

The shop was a breath of fresh air..chilly air, but fresh!

Cute new things in the shop!

Of course we love kitties!

The winter of 2009/2010 has been horrid. Enough is enough already! We experienced another snow storm on Monday and Tuesday of this week. By Thursday both Cheryl and I were going crazy inside and decided we MUST get to the shop and do some work. Cheryl worked on pricing many new items to be offered in the shop and I worked on pulling, photoing and documenting items for our Etsy shop.
Be sure to visit the online shop to see our new offerings. You'll find vintage hats, childrens items and some more metal trays...
And as soon as Tom gets home and gets down to clear out the courtyard, we will be watching for you to come see us in Walnut!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We may be recovering from a huge snow storm outside, but inside we are getting ready for the new year. There is a fresh array of clothing to choose from. Whether you are looking for true Vintage, gently used, or brand new, our Prior Attire section is waiting for your perusal and ready for the challenge!

As always, the shop is packed with vintage home decor items and locally made art. This little angel is made by Carol Rosembaum of Walnut Iowa. The shop is featuring many of her items thru the New Year.

Cheryl is busy taking down the Christmas decorations and getting set for a new year of fun and offerings of the most unique and beautiful things to be found in our little Walnut.

Mention my blog when you visit the shop for a special surprise!

Also, dont forget my Etsy Shop. Kathy is working on bringing many new things to add in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

We love comments...please let us know you are watching! One sided conversations are no fun!
